As 2024 unfolds its dastardly claws upon all of us, we cannot help to find ourselves very weary of our future. Whether you are on the left or right, you must admit we are up for a wild ride coming soon. We have had a horrible hurricane wreak its havoc on our American citizens in the east. Which is causing plenty of controversy over FEMA and whether the government is even doing its best at helping "We the People". The way I see it, "We the People" are doing ALL the work. But that is okay, because We are One and will take care of our own. The presidential election comes at a time when we need serious economic change. We are all struggling. Even folks who have been financially comfortable are struggling to put food on the table. Even as an organization, we fight to keep cost within reason to still be beneficial to us, but also affordable to fans. From the border crisis, politics, economical struggles, and even local political bickering; it has been hard to focus on the good. This is where Texas Football is our safe place. Like a snuggly teddy bear to a child’s comfortable companion, football is my heavy sigh of comfortable relief. Most of you all can relate to Monday’s like I do, likened to the feeling you get right before a beach vacation. Tuesday, you get a little bit more anxious. Wednesday, the half-way point to your anxiety-driven anticipation. Thursday, your making plans and getting nervous. Friday morning, you have the smile on your face and butterflies in your belly. Bonus, it happens every week from August to December! Bye week has been a week of relaxation, especially for us. Nothing like being able to take a small vacation from concessions, apparel, planning, and coordination. It has also been nerve wracking, thinking about whether these guys are getting healthy and ready. Every morning, I pray fervently for these boys and their health. Not because I want them to win, that would be selfish, but because I want their goals and dreams to be a reality. They have worked hard for this; may God grant them the health they need to fight. So here we are Glen Rose. The cleaner has come out and wiped the perpetual chalkboard clean of every game from Alvarado and prior. Today, we are zero wins and zero losses. We are halfway into the climb of this summit and preparing to trek our way through a couple of obstacles. It's time to show up Glen Rose. Deterrent number one, the purple team down the road.
