I compare August to when we were young; donned in pajamas and anxious anticipation. awaiting that morning of December 25. The jitters, excitement, and nail-biting suspense of what would await us in the living room the next day. Pull out that calculator and multiply that night times eight months! It's a brutal time away from Friday Night Football! Yet here we are Glen Rose on another season of ups, downs, and Saturday morning hangover-like symptoms from screaming the night before. This 2024 season will be one for the books. With 2023 just a memory of falling short, it's a new day, a new year, and another chance to write 32+ names in the Glen Rose Tigers historical archives! I believe we have what it takes. I see their professional demeanor to take care of business in 2024. I see their seriousness of doing their job in 2024. I see their ability to work as a team, execute, and finish the job in 2024. This year's motto, "Base to Summit", defines these boys in their preparation. PREPARE, TRAIN, AND EXECUTE. When climbing Mount Everest, the first base camp is utilized to acclimate and prepare for the climb. This is where mentally and physically; climbers prepare for what's to come; the grueling task of reaching their destination at the top. This 2024 group of Tigers have a steep climb ahead of them. Only they will determine the outcome. Are they prepared? Are they willing to embrace that mountain and conquer the summit? Only time will tell. It's a great day to be a Tiger!
