TEN YEARS! A decade of UNDEFEATED District Championships! What an accomplishment! Congratulations coaches, staff, and 2025 Tigers for making history and etching your name in the "books of fame"! It doesn’t matter how hard you try. You can walk slower, sit quieter, or stand at ease, hoping to delay the inevitable. You can stare at the clock, watching the seconds march forward, begging the hands to turn back, desperate for just a few more moments. Yet time, relentless and unforgiving, always carries us here, to this place, where reflection meets reality. And no matter how much we try to hold on, it always feels too soon. Still, here we stand. Another year. Another season. Another battle on the horizon. I am beyond grateful for the program this school has built; a program that breathes pride, discipline, and heart into every young man who wears the red and white. Across the state of Texas, countless players will hang up their pads after Week 10, watching the lights fade on their season. But not here. Not in Glen Rose. Because year after year, we can depend on this coaching staff, this brotherhood, to prepare OUR boys for one more. One more opportunity. One more night under the lights. One more chance to shine. Writing about this team lately has been harder than ever. It’s not for lack of inspiration, quite the opposite. I feel an almost sacred guilt when I write, knowing that words could never truly do justice to every Tiger who’s stepped onto that field. I name those who make the headlines, but I think often of the ones who go unseen, the lineman who takes the hit so someone else can score, the backup who keeps the sideline alive with belief, the quiet leader who pats a teammate on the helmet after a mistake. Football isn’t just won in touchdowns, it’s won in the invisible moments, in the silent sacrifices that no stat sheet will ever record. A single block, a lone tackle, or even a sideline high-five can tip the balance of an entire game. Every action, every decision, carries consequence. Take the Benbrook Bobcats, for example. A team of undeniable talent; fast, flashy, and skilled. But talent without discipline is a blade without a handle. Over the summer, they looked the part, showcasing their ability in 7v7. But when the real fight came, shoulder pads adorned, and when the lights came on and emotions flared, they cracked. They came into our house arrogant, convinced they’d snatch the crown. Yet, with every unsportsmanlike shove and every reckless display, they wrote their own defeat. They weren’t beaten by the Tigers; they were undone by themselves. That’s the difference. That’s Glen Rose Football. Our coaches don’t just build players; they forge men. They understand that each down, each decision, each act of integrity on and off the field defines the outcome. They teach that victory isn’t handed out — it’s earned through unity, through self-control, through purpose. We are different. Our boys are molded in the fire of accountability and cooled in the waters of humility. Every player, from the special teams warriors to the offensive juggernauts, holds a piece of the whole. Each role matters. Every contribution, no matter how small, strengthens the brotherhood. So this week, as we look back at the bitterness of Benbrook and the sweet triumph over Dunbar, we salute this team. The 2025 Glen Rose Tigers. From winless in five to undefeated in district, you have clawed and fought and bled your way back to glory. Hats off to you. To the men in the trenches who don’t get their names called on the loudspeaker. To the ones who step up when their number is called. To the defense who fights with grit and fire. To the offense who refuses to yield. You are the heartbeat of Glen Rose. You are the standard. And to Dunbar, respect where it’s due. The Wildcats showed class and discipline, a mirror of our own values. Unlike last year, their composure and sportsmanship shone through. It was a battle fought with heart and respect, and that’s what this game should be. Hats off to their coaches for leading the right way. And so, the march continues... As the regular season fades into the rearview and the playoffs rise on the horizon, our community once again rallies behind its boys in red. The journey ahead will not be easy. Every team from here on out has fought, clawed, and sacrificed to earn THEIR spot, just like we have. But if history has taught us anything, it’s that Glen Rose doesn’t back down. We don’t rattle easy. We don’t fold. This team, this program, carries the weight of years of hard work, late nights, sweat, and sacrifice. It’s a legacy built not only on talent, but on the discipline, unity, and relentless heart that define Tiger football.
