WE NEED YOU!...

The Glen Rose Athletic Booster Club is an organization that prides itself on funding items that would otherwise not be available due to budget constraints. Many of the benefits of our athletic programs directly correlate to how much this organization funds. For example, game day food or new baseball bags. Each time the Glen Rose coaching staff petitions for funds from the club, this allows extra funds to be moved and allocated to still provide the athletes with what they need and also the extra benefits that many other schools cannot provide. We are truly blessed and fortunate to provide an exceptional experience for athletes at GRISD. As a bonus, GRABC has been able to provide funding beyond the athletic department to help enrich our students in the classroom and even local nonprofit organizations who are deserving of support. We have been honored to serve this district and community. Personally, we have spent hundreds of hours of our time ensuring students athletes receive much more than we ever had. We have contributed thousands of dollars, if not tens of thousands of our own, to ensure funds were more than adequate for where it matters. However, this venture has taken its toll on us physically and mentally. It has made us very ill at times and mentally exhausted. We are very aware of the gratitude and concern of those who help us. We thank those who acknowledge our commitment and are very grateful for those who have dedicated themselves to step in and alleviate our burden. We are indebted to you. We could not have made it this far without you. With that being said, we are burning the candle quickly from both ends. Yet, we are not ready to “throw in the towel” right now. This is a cry for help before it is too late. We do understand that we have built a program that can be complicated for some volunteers. Without expansion and organization, the booster club would still only be sufficient for $10,000-$,15,000 of funding. Currently, we average $30,000 in funds and $30,000 in scholarships with many commitments to yearly expenses. In its current state, this organization needs leadership that understands how to create revenue and do it without overspending. It is a business and should be treated accordingly. We want this organization to continue to grow and be successful. It cannot continue without the next generation of leaders stepping in. We are looking for special people who see and understand the same vision as we do. We are searching for those willing to put in the work that allows our students, athletes, and fans the extra benefits of what our athletic departments offer. This organization is not a youth program. This program represents Glen Rose ISD directly and deserves great leaders and community servants. We are ready to train and teach those willing to learn. Concessions, corporate sales, and apparel are the three cornerstones of the GRABC. This can easily be divided into three leaders willing to give back to a cause greater than themselves. Unfortunately, there are only two alternatives to this predicament. In a few years, we significantly downsize the club, returning it to a much smaller version with funding to the athletic department and scholarships at a much smaller scale. Or, if no one is willing to step in, we would facilitate an exit to financial responsibilities, 501c3 requirements, and the organization will become idle or dissolved. This is not what we want. Our goal was and still is to find the next enthusiastic generation to lead this organization into success. We are willing to help and train for 2-3 years as the next leaders gain the same experience and attributes to pass along to the subsequent generation. Please reach out or help us find that group of leaders willing to divvy up and maintain what we have grown. Thank you to all those who have sacrificed alongside us and to the sponsors who entrusted us with your support. We are truly grateful for the years we have spent and look forward to more. We just need help before it is too late.
