YEAR OF GREATNESS...
We may all have our opinion about the game versus Dallas Lincoln. Some things that ran through my head is best kept right where it is, in my head. Yet one thing stands out that I will proudly bolster about is the turn out for this group of Lady Tigers. For Heaven's Sake Glen Rose, you showed out in full force and showed Dallas what true small hometown spirit is made of. It was a mesmerizing sea of red as Tiger fans of all ages just kept rolling through the front doors of the prison Mansfield ISD likes to call a "school". Anyone else get the stink eye from one of the many officers there? Oh, how I am thankful for Glen Rose!!
As for the game, no it didn't go like all of us wanted it to. It always leaves that gut wrenching feeling deep in the pit of your stomach. My gosh I wanted to make a trip down south. However, what's done is done and we move on to next year. There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed about being in the FINAL FOUR! Kudos to this group of girls. They have worked so hard for so long and rightly so, have become some of the greatest to ever play for our awesome little town. It was a fun ride, even though most of my ride was behind the counter of the concession stand, but that's okay, we were still there throwing popcorn in celebration. Somebody's got to do it right?
Congratulations to the coaches and players who have worked hard this year. Congratulations to the parents for a well-deserved break. Some of you will be returning back for more, some will always be attracted to the gymnasium, and some may be running from the gym. I wish nothing but the best to the graduating seniors who played their last and those about to start their next basketball journey with even more competition! Great year Glen Rose Lady Tigers!!
